Weekend Review

My parents are boarding a plane right about now and heading home after a great weekend.

Friday mom and I hung out by ourselves all day and it was so nice! I had an appointment in the morning and baby seems to be doing fine. I am still -5 pounds from my starting weight so the belly is all pregnancy, I’m not getting fat! The heartbeat was 160, speculate if you must on the gender. We ate at Fridays and then shopped and picked the nursery color schemes for boy and girl. Then we moved the office and organized the nursery, you wouldn’t believe how messy I had let my house get! It looks great now, I’m blogging from my phone and don’t know how to post pictures, but I’ll try to do that soon.

Saturday we watched most of Whitney Houston’s funeral and then hung around and listened to her greatest hits CD. I took the gender urine test and will be keeping that a secret until late march, I want people to guess! Did anyone do the test, if so was it accurate? That night we went out for a pasta dinner because Bryan was running the marathon Sunday.

Sunday was race day. Beautiful day for running and Bryan beat his best time. Then we went out for our traditional post race meal at NXNW.

Monday mom, dad, Kevin and I hung out, went shopping and grabbed lunch. Kevin made me laugh so hard I had tears streaming down my face and I was gagging. Haven’t laughed that hard since probably sophomore year of highschool! I bought nothing and I had a whole list of things to look for, shopping day fail. Good day though.

February Edition

Operation Love Austin: February. Our plans changed for February, we were planning to get tickets and go to Wicked and then I looked into prices and yikes, there was no way I was going to spend $150 for the worst tickets in the house and they went up a lot from there. Our amazing realtor read my Operation Love Austin post and gifted us Austin Duck Tour tickets, so our February event was free. We went on Saturday and let me tell you it was CHILLY. Despite it being only like 55 it was packed and they had 2 full “buses” of people. We got through the whole land tour and as we are driving down the road to get in the water the bus started smoking and anti-freeze starts pouring down the aisle. The driver says, “oh hey I’ll just pull in right here,” and then it dies, right there in the road. Luckily we weren’t in the water yet and within 10 minutes a new bus arrived to continue the tour. It was really interesting to hear about the history of the city and a fun thing to do on a Saturday afternoon. Andrew is pretty much the last in line for fun, well silly fun, and basically refused to participate in any of the duck whistle parts of the tour, I can’t totally blame him, he gets it from his dad! What’s the plan for March, not sure yet. I really want to go to the Post Secret SXSW show, but I know it will be insane since you can’t buy tickets. Also that is not really Austin. We should try to hit up something SXSW since that is totally a “hip” thing to do, maybe we’ll catch a music show of some kind. You’ll just have to check back and see.

I hope! It’s been a rough week. I’m afraid it’s official, I don’t sleep through the night anymore. Besides the obvious reason that I’m pregnant, I have no idea why! I read that once I accept that this is just the way it is I won’t be frustrated anymore so I’m moving toward acceptance! I’m also just feeling blue and not so much myself, hoping this levels out soon as well. I keep thinking if I could just sleep through the night ONE MORE TIME, I’d be happy, but realistically that’s not true. Oh and then there are the headaches, I am not one that gets headaches really ever, but these are bad enough that I actually cave and take a pill which is also very rare and let me say for the record, Tylenol is a joke! Don’t want to sound all complainy so let’s just call this my prayer list . I’m hoping to be back tomorrow with a natural products video, I have tons to share!!

So I’ve thought about the whole netflix/quickster snafu for awhile and I’ve discovered something that I think is kind of funny. People got SO UPSET when netflix raised their prices and notified all of their customers about the rate change. We are customers of netflix and we made the decision to drop the DVD mail and just do streaming. I wasn’t super upset about it, I think they handled it poorly, but they are a business and they are trying to make money. How many of you realized that Redbox raised their rate the same percentage within weeks of the netflix rate hike? Netflix raised their rates by 20% I think and instead of redbox being $1.00 the rentals went up to a minimum of $1.20. You don’t notice it as much because it’s 20 cents, but it’s the same rate of change. Facebook blew up with complaints the day netflix sent out the notification, but I have yet to hear one person complain about the 20% rate hike from redbox. What have we learned from this? Just don’t tell!

Here was our Christmas picture, and if you are actually looking for a third person then you don't get the point of the picture!

That’s right, the Campbell’s are becoming a family of 3 in August. In fact we are due the week of our 4th Wedding anniversary. The due date is sometime between the 8th and the 10th, our anniversary is the 9th. I keep telling Andrew I am going to be holding it in because I am not going to be in the hospital on our anniversary, do you know what that means? The baby will most likely arrive on the 9th, right? The next question everyone asks is how are you feeling? I’m ok, I don’t feel like myself, but I am not super sick, I don’t throw up. I’m getting my energy back, I did enter my 2nd trimester yesterday so I am definitely on the upswing! Here’s to hoping the record high winter doesn’t produce a record high summer!!!

Oh my word, Parks and Recreation. On Saturday I’m not sure what happened, but I think we must have fallen in superglue and then sat on the couch because our bums were glued there for about the entire day. Andrew went and tutored and I eventually got a shower at 5:00 and we ran an errand or two at that point. What we did do is watch AN ENTIRE SEASON of Parks and Recreation. The third season to be exact and now I’m sad and anxiously awaiting the next season to be uploaded onto netflix. If you don’t remember the phrase in the title go back and watch the camping episode. I laughed out loud several times during the first ten minutes. Amy Pohler doesn’t disappoint.

This is this man’s job. He travels and sings at churches, I think he needs to seriously reconsider his profession. It gets better and better as the video progresses and the very end doesn’t really disappoint either. ENJOY!
